Who Are We?
Richardson Rockwall Youth Hockey Association is a not for profit organization supporting the Raiders High School hockey teams both Varsity and Junior Varsity playing in the AT&T high school hockey league. The teams have home ice at the Dr Pepper Stars center Richardson formerly the Richardson Ice Training Center (ITC). We participate in regular season during the school year October through March with practices starting in August, and summer league May through July.
All students of Richardson, Rockwall, Garland, Forney, and Greenville Independent school districts are eligible to play from 7th grade through 12th. Practice players are encouraged for those in 6th or 7th grade not yet eligible to be on the roster or needing more experience prior to playing HS Hockey.
We are very lucky to have a coaching staff that is both great on the ice but also very supportive of the organization. From on ice training to fundraising our coaching staff has been the glue to keep the teams together over the past 15 years as many families come and go.
Chris Holton is our longest standing coach who has been with the program since the beginning starting with the Richardson East JV in 2000.
Mike Steele joined in 2004 to help Coach Holton with the JV.
Jacob Steele is the son of Mike Steele and has a special place in his heart for this team as he has played for and now is the head coach for both JV and Varsity of the Raiders Youth Hockey teams.
